Excellent summary of points. I would also add that cryptocurrency is unethical simply due to the intense amount of energy resources used to mine it at a time when we are dealing with climate change due to human energy needs. This is a moral case against cryptocurrency which is not often discussed.

The value of cryptocurrency is fundamentally an expression of the amount of energy required to create the equivalent amount of that cryptocurrency today. This however makes it terrible as a currency, because it acts as a scarce commodity which is precisely as it was designed.
