Completely agree, Kubernetes sucks. Good in principle but not in practice. In my startup company we had begun by using GKE on Google Cloud with a number of containers, but are now due migrating to simply using VMs due to the complexity and overhead of using GKE. The benefits are not worth the cost, time, and limitations that come with Kubernetes.

It sounds like you’ve experienced a similar journey to ours! Kubernetes is incredibly powerful, but its complexity and overhead can outweigh the benefits for smaller teams or startups. Moving to a simpler setup like VMs can often provide more flexibility and reduce the cognitive load on the team.
